Crowns
A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. Laser used for crown extension.
There are several benefits to getting a dental crown:
- Restoration of tooth structure by providing protection and support to teeth that have been severely damaged by decay, trauma, or wear. They cover the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gumline to preserve its structure and prevent further deterioration.
- Strength and durability, dental crowns are typically made from durable materials such as porcelain, ceramic, metal alloys, or a combination of materials. These strong and resilient materials provide long-lasting protection to the underlying tooth and enable it to withstand the forces of chewing and biting.
- Improving functionality by restoring the shape and strength of a damaged tooth. Dental crowns help improve functionality for biting, chewing, and speaking.
- Protection of weak teeth that have undergone extensive dental procedures such as root canal therapy or large fillings. Crowns provide reinforcement and support to these weakened teeth, and reduce the risk of further damage or fracture.
- Cosmetic Enhancement by improving the appearance of teeth by covering imperfections such as discoloration, misalignment, irregular shape, or gaps between teeth.
- Comfort and Confidence by restoring the function and appearance of damaged teeth and enhancing the patient’s comfort and confidence in their smile.
